Celebrating Leadership and Heart: Congratulations to Anthony Addeo

At Moonjumpers, the belief that community and character shine just as brightly as academic achievement is at the core of what we do. This year, we couldn’t be prouder to honor Anthony Addeo, a Huntington High School Class of 2025 graduate, with our $1,000 Moonjumpers-Kenneth A. Christensen Leadership Scholarship.

Leadership with Purpose

Anthony doesn’t just excel in the classroom, he embodies what it means to uplift others. A proud Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor, he also made his mark on the field, playing for both the varsity golf and baseball teams. But perhaps his most inspiring contributions came through his compassion and initiative: Anthony helped launch The Blue Market (a food pantry) and Blutique (a clothing and essentials distribution center) at his high school, supporting families facing food insecurity and basic needs challenges. These student-led efforts created inclusive, community-based resources that truly matter.

Anthony shared, “The key to my success has been studying hard and always putting maximum effort into my coursework. With the support of my family, friends and teachers, I was able to truly excel in school.” It’s this blend of academic determination and community-minded action that inspired the Moonjumpers team when selecting this scholarship recipient.

Honoring a Legacy of Service

The Moonjumpers-Kenneth A. Christensen Leadership Scholarship carries a deeper meaning: it is a direct reflection of the legacy of Kenneth A. Christensen, who passed away in 2022. Mr. Christensen was an extraordinary pillar of service in Huntington: serving in the U.S. Merchant Marine, the town council, Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and multiple civic boards and initiatives supporting youth development, environmental health, and community engagement. He was also instrumental in the Leadership Huntington program. This scholarship continues his lifelong mission of nurturing leadership rooted in meaningful service.

A Mission That Matters

Since its founding in 2011, the Moonjumpers Charitable Foundation has been dedicated to helping children, families, veterans, and charitable organizations improve their quality of life—whether through direct assistance or purpose-driven programs. Every year we offer up to three scholarships to deserving high school seniors who exemplify academic strength, financial need, and genuine community spirit. Anthony fits this mission perfectly.

Looking Ahead

From all of us at Moonjumpers, thank you, Anthony, for showing what it means to lead with intention, empathy, and enthusiasm. Your commitment to bettering the world around you—while pursuing personal excellence—embodies our foundation’s values. We are excited to see you continue your journey at the University of South Carolina – Columbia, where we’re sure you will keep making a difference.
