The Moonjumpers partnered with two of their Corporate Sponsors both National Grid and PSEGLI to address some of the facilities external cosmetic needs.
A Team of talented volunteers lend a hand conducting carpentry work and performing desired landscaping. They also provided a fresh coat of paint on the exterior of the facility. There was enough work for all levels of skillset that helped lend a hand at the Moonjumpers Annual Community Day on Friday, May 11, 2018 to help support the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County at Camp Sobaco in Yaphank. Breakfast and Lunch was provided by PSEGLI and National Grid. Elected Officials arrived during lunch (Senator Kenneth LaValle, Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine, Brookhaven Town Councilwoman Jane Bonner, Assemblyman Dean Murray & Legislator Rob Calarco).
The Moonjumpers Charitable Foundation, Inc. provided Tom Flanagan, COO of the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County with a $3,000 grant to send ten (10) children from families in need to attend an entire full week at Camp Sobaco’s summer camp.
Jim Baldwin’s Team repaired their Gaga Pit
Ron Angst’s Team repaired benches near the older pool house
Bill Fontaine’s Team took on the tasks of spreading of RCA and Clearing of Walk Paths and Woods by the benches being repaired by Ron Angst for the Camp Counselors.
Ray Homburger’s Team painted multiple Tentalow Buildings
Pete Hornick’s Team stained a large Gazebo and decking.
Lisa Biolsi & Alanna Russo’s Team installed new plant and other desired landscaping
There was enough work for all levels of skillset. Paint / Stain and Painting Supplies were provided by the Moonjumpers.
This was a great Stewardship opportunity going beyond the pipes and wires.
